What’s happening in the philippines?
Obed’s House is a 24/7 Residential Care Facility accepting children ages 5-12 that are orphaned, coming off of the street, or from neglected homes. Obed’s House was founded in 2013 by Meredith (Wood) Docena. A graduate of Cedarville University, Meredith and her husband Avery have a heart for God’s work and a mission to feed the hungry, educate the neglected, clothe the needy, and house the abandoned.
how can i help?
Obed’s House's’ operating budget is $8,000 a month. This $8,000 includes education costs for all 16 children, food and housing, as well as national staff salaries.
The Docena family is also still fundraising for the family we serve at Obed’s house. Click the button below to learn more about what we do and how you can partner with us!
what’s the impact?
Obed’s House is a new beginning for the neglected, street, and abandoned children of General Santos City. The Docena’s desire to see the children of Obed’s House love Jesus and have a passionate desire to serve Him, while living in an environment where they feel safe, loved, cared for, and understand their worth.
These kids now have the opportunity to obtain a Christian education free of charge, which will result in them becoming mature, strong, people of God who truly love and serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Then, they can go out into the community and the world to do the same.
We stand by Proverbs 22:6 for all children who enter the door of Obed’s House: Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
